DeltaVision softWoRx 7.0.0 Update August 2017 This update is for systems currently running 6.X (or 7.0 pre-release) updating to the latest version of 7.0.0. Prerequisites * You must have at least softWoRx 6.X installed * You must have CentOS 5 or higher installed * You must have access to the Linux workstation's "root" password * The Linux workstation must have access to the Internet md5sum: 131861857237a5abd68abd31eaf4f396 dv700_update_RC6.tar 1881dc11cb0e16009e1eeac87c5b3966 APUPDATE_DRIVER.tar This file should be downloaded or transferred to the desktop of a user account on the workstation. Install: 1. Shut down any DeltaVision windows on the acquisition workstation. 2. Right click the icon named dv700_update.tar (on the workstation's Desktop background) and choose Extract Here from the menu. 3. A folder called dv700_update will be created. 4. If the extraction does not result in a window being displayed, double-click on the dv700_update folder icon to display its contents. 5. In that folder, click the icon Click_To_Update.sh and follow the instructions. This will ask for root password, make backup copies of the current softWoRx folders, then apply the updates, including sending an update to the IC/MIC (if attached.) The remaining steps update the software on the IC/MIC--stand-alone workstations do not need to continue. Do steps 6 through 9 only for systems that include a PCO sCMOS camera running softWorx 6.1.1 or earlier (otherwise skip to step 10): 6. Right click the icon named APUPDATE_DRIVER.tar (on the workstation's Desktop background) and choose Extract Here from the menu. 7. A folder called APUPDATE_DRIVER will be created. 8. If the extraction does not result in a window being displayed, double-click on the APUPDATE_DRIVER folder icon to display its contents. 9. In that folder, click the icon Click_To_Update.sh which will automatically send the PCO driver update file to the IC/MIC. For all IC/MIC systems: 10. To finalize the firmware update on the IC/MIC, press the power button to shut it down. 11. When the IC/MIC has powered off, press the power button again and wait for the IC/MIC to power up, update itself, and then automatically power off again. 12. Once the IC/MIC has automatically shut itself off after updating its firmware, push the IC/MIC power button again to power it on for use.
